Old-school Alicante bar, brought back from the brink
Seafood, salted fish and preserves still run the menu at Las Chapas, the old-school taberna Grupo PISPAS rescued when it was fading out on Calle Rafael Altamira. The soul stayed put. The room got a refresh.
This is aperitivo territory, not a sit-down dinner spot. Gluten-free options are on the menu, and the location across from the Hotel Amérigo, near the town hall, makes it an easy stop before or after a wander through the centre.

In my opinion if you search for a traditional, spanish bar/tapas bistro this is your place. The atmosphere was incredible with the serving, everyone was so nice and respectful with us. The food was brilliant and enough. About the prizes, it’s near the capital of Alicante so you have to expect highher/ strong middle purchases. But what I can say is, if you want to go to Alicante, you should’t miss this place!🫶

Great service! They make you feel welcome and the quality of service is amazing. The tapas were delicious and came out really fast.
