A teacher's second act in Ystad's oldest half-timbered courtyard

Tildas Kafé & Konfekt opened in December 2024 inside Per Helsas gård, one of the best-preserved half-timbered courtyards in Ystad's old town. Terese Karlsson left teaching to run it as a sister spot to her Tildas Bakeri on Regementsgatan, serving shrimp sandwiches, baguettes, salads and pies for lunch, plus fika, cakes and a counter of chocolates, licorice and handmade pralines.

The café spent the previous summer as a pop-up in Norra Promenaden park before it found this permanent courtyard address.
