Mops

Zurich's oldest kiosk, reopened as a café inside its original 1911 pavilion
Mops opened at the end of March 2026 on Heimplatz, inside a small round pavilion built in 1911 by city architect Friedrich Fissler as a waiting hall, kiosk, and toilets. Locals nicknamed it 'Mops' (pug) in the 1920s for its rounded shape, and that name is back now that it's a café.
The project is run by Sheila Lopardo along with This Schälchli and Luca Di Secli of Kaffeefenster Hegifret, pouring coffee and pastries out of what's recognized as the oldest surviving kiosk structure in the city, near the Kunsthaus.

The staff was very friendly. I had the BonBon coffee, it was excellent, very sweet due to the condense milk.
