A tightly edited mini department store in a Song Wat shophouse

Skip the souvenir racks. Garçon Dept fills a shophouse at 817 Song Wat Road with clothing, objects and gifts from Thai and Asian labels, most shirts and casual pieces running 1,500 to 3,000 baht.

The owner sources from local artists and designers, so the picks feel wearable around Bangkok rather than collector bait. It worked well enough that a second location opened on CentralWorld's 2nd floor by June 2026, but the Song Wat original, boxed in by Chinatown's cafes and old trading houses, is still the one worth the trip.

Good to know

• Take the MRT Blue Line to Wat Mangkon, exit 1, and walk straight to Song Wat Road.
• Open daily 10am-7pm; the shop hands out its own map of the Song Wat neighborhood, useful for a full day in the area.
