Café Pastel opened July 16, 2024, in Bab Bhar, across from Hôtel Zitouna, in partnership with Pâtisserie Amandine. That pairing put a real pastry case behind a café for the first time on this side of the medina. The spot sits on one of Sfax's busiest walking stretches, between the old city gate and the hotel strip, an area local coverage already treats as a food destination on its own.

A café up front, an established pâtisserie stocking the case: it's a common shortcut for new Sfax coffee shops handling the sweets side. Pastel leaned on it from day one instead of building its own pastry kitchen first.
