Skip the polished wine bars in Göreme. Kocabağ is a working winery on the Uçhisar to Nevşehir road, pouring Emir and Kalecik Karası grown on the volcanic plateau, two grapes native to Cappadocia you won't find poured casually elsewhere.

The cellar door does tastings, and the room feels like a working winery, not a lounge. Bottles are sold to take away, so grab one for later if a glass wins you over.
