A proper secondhand shop, not just a donation table

Racks, a fitting room, real opening hours: Red Hot & Thrifty turned the Red Cross's occasional donation sales into an actual shop on Leeward Highway. Clothing, footwear and household goods are priced low, and volunteers run the floor.

In a country where most retail is imported and priced for visitors, this is a rare place locals can actually shop. Every dollar spent goes straight back into Red Cross work on Provo and Grand Turk.

Good to know

• Open Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday - Saturday mornings are when new stock hits the rails.
• They take donations of clothing and household goods at the same address; call ahead for drop-off.
