Kololo's only Greek gyros counter, tucked inside a food court

Skip the sit-down restaurants for a minute. Orexi runs a single counter inside Platia, the outdoor food court on Upper Kololo Terrace, making gyros the Greek way among a lineup of other stalls.

It's one of the few places in Kampala doing Greek food at all, and the food court format keeps it quicker and lighter than its neighbors. The counter shows up every year for Kampala Restaurant Week.

I recently dined at orexi, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The decor beautifully , creating the perfect setting for a lovely meal. The menu offered a fantastic variety of traditional Greek dishes. We started with the mousaka and tzatziki, both bursting with flavor and freshness. For the main course, I can't recommend the moussaka enough—it's rich, hearty, and truly a taste of authentic Greek cuisine. The grilled octopus was another highlight, cooked to perfection and wonderfully seasoned. Service was impeccable; our server was attentive and knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu with great suggestions. The wine selection also complemented our meal beautifully, featuring several exquisite Greek options. Overall, Orexi exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for a delightful dining experience and a taste of Greece, I highly recommend stopping by. I can’t wait to return!

I had the most delicious steak and pepper sauce here. The steak was cooked perfectly and the pepper sauce was creamy and delicious.

I ordered for chicken and at first glance, it wasn't mouth watering but at first cut and bite; I was thrown off guard. It was crispy on top yet juicy and soft inside. Except for my stomach, I shouldn't have stopped eating. All I can say is the food is worth it!

Ordered delivery: food was tasty but portions were tiny. Plus you have to order a drink with your gyro and pay for it separately; otherwise the order doesn’t go through

Service is great. Food is so-so. Not enough for the price. The Greek salad was tiny and filled with too much onions and not enough cucumbers, then loaded me with bread instead of enough salad. The gyro was ok but had a weird sauce that was not normally on a gyro. So I probably won’t have their food again.
