Coffee, THC and Gracious pastries on St. Charles

High Grinds opened in spring 2026 on the St. Charles block that also holds Avenue Pub and Care Forgot Beercraft, run by a group of local partners including Beth and Scott Galante.

Espresso comes from Mojo Coffee Roasters and the pastries from Gracious Bakery, but the other half of the menu is hemp drinks and gummies, including Master P's THC seltzer. Treat it as a coffee shop that gets stranger after 4pm.

In full honesty I ducked in here just to charge my phone and get out of the heat for a minute when walking the city, didn’t pick it for any particular reason other than it being close. But it is a really cute spot! The latte was on the better side of the few that I tried while in town (small sample size though as I was only in for a week). The stained glass and pew in the back seating area really add to the atmosphere, and further lean into the reclaimed church/gothic features vibe would go so hard. Stopped in early afternoon on a Monday and it wasn’t too busy, very quick and friendly service!

The coffee was amazing, and Abi is so good at her job, she has to be the best barista there is!! There was a long line but she managed it really well while making the best coffee, and she was very sweet with everyone! The atmosphere was very nice, I worked all morning and had a great time.

Great vibe and impeccable service from Abby. I visited during a very busy time, and Abby was by herself, but she kept the line moving. She was very efficient in taking orders and fulfilling orders quickly, all while acknowledging customers in line and thanking them for waiting. Though quick with her movements, her demeanor was gentle, warm, and calming. Wonderful experience overall!!
