Venezuelan Japanese sushi and poke in the Packing District

Venezuelan and Japanese technique meet in the same roll here, an unusual pairing for a food hall stall rather than its own restaurant. Poke bowls round out the rest of the menu, built for the same fast counter service as everything else at Great Southern Box.

It's one of ten vendors under one roof in the old citrus warehouse. Fusion this specific rarely gets a stall of its own outside a strip mall.

I was stopping by for a meeting. And didn't really plan on having any kind of dinner but after taking a look at the menu I had to give something to try and it was well worth it. Everything was fresh and made to order right on the spot. Service and the chef were great funny and easy to talk to why you waited for your food to get made. Customer in line behind me ordered the sushi burrito roll and it looked amazing so that is on my list for the next visit.

I called for a take out order and said “give me five of your best sushi rolls”. Twenty minutes later they were ready for pickup. Wow so delicious. We got the- - American Crispy - Tropical - KOA - Sobox - Aloha The flavors were unique to each roll and the quality was excellent. I should’ve taken some pictures but we were too hungry and dove right in.
