Skip the chain coffee line and duck into the Luhrs Tower instead. This ground-floor cafe moves fast, built for the office and courthouse crowd cutting through downtown on a weekday morning.

Coffee, pastries and simple breakfast plates make up the menu, nothing that needs a menu debate. Casa de Julia takes over the same room for dinner once the morning rush clears out.
