Arizona designers selling out of an 1890s house downtown

ModPop set up shop inside the Stevens-Haustgen House at Heritage Square, right across from the Arizona Science Center. It's one of the last Victorian-era buildings left on the block, which makes for an odd, great backdrop for racks of local clothing.

This isn't a straight boutique. It's a retail incubator that rotates three to five Arizona designers and artists through the floor at once, alongside jewellery, accessories and vintage finds, with business coaching built in.

Good to know

• Closed Mondays; open Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm.
• The building is the Stevens-Haustgen House, worth a look even if you buy nothing.
