A 1940s warehouse turned 14,000-square-foot spirits hall
A circa-1940s riverfront warehouse now holds spirit tastings, cocktail classes, a Southern restaurant and a retail shop under one roof. At 245 Montgomery Street, it's one of the biggest hospitality builds downtown in recent memory, and the scale shows.
This isn't a corner bar with a still in back. It's built for a full night out, and Sunday hours start later for the after-church crowd.

Amazing experience for both couples and groups! If you’re visiting Savannah and looking for a fun activity in historic downtown, I highly recommend doing the spirit tasting and cocktail class here. The spirit tasting was a great way to start. You get to sample a flight of their whiskeys, vodkas, and moonshines, and they’ll even mix them into small cocktail samples if you’d rather not drink the spirits neat. The real highlight for us was the cocktail class, our bartender and instructor, Jodi, was fantastic, very personable, knowledgeable, and fun to learn from. She taught us how to make two cocktails from scratch while also sharing some mixology history. It was very hands-on, and you get to learn a new skill while enjoying the drinks you make. We also stopped at the downstairs bar afterward and had some great drinks. I believe our bartender was Shari, and she was wonderful! The location is another huge plus. It’s right in historic downtown Savannah and within easy walking distance of many of the hotels and other attractions in the area, so it’s very easy to work into a day exploring the city. One of the highlights of our trip, and we would definitely recommend it to other visitors!

My wife and I really enjoyed the old savannah distillery. We ordered the low country boil for both of us. The food was cooked to perfection and delicious! Our server was the best, and she made us feel welcome and very well taken care of. Overall a great experience you need to try! Whoever the bartender was, they were spot on. Drinks were perfect!

This place was fantastic. The entire staff/crew was very friendly. We were constantly checked on and taken care of. The blackened chicken sandwich was phenomenal, and the sweet potatoe fries are GENIUS, they put powdered sugar on them and they taste like mini funnel cakes. 10/10 food, service and staff.

Although they've only been open for a bit over a month, they are getting into their groove now at the Old Savannah Distillery with their scratch kitchen where everything is made to order (pretty much.) The appetizers didn't disappoint at all. After a little added dash of salt, the deviled eggs were tangy and tart and smooth. The fried green tomatoes were exactly perfect! Not too thick. Just crispy enough. And, the accompanying horseradish sauce complements instead of overpowering. The skillet cornbread is a meal in and of itself. We ended up taking it home and snacking off of it for a couple of days. The grilled chicken Caesar salad was one of the best. Tops. Delicious with the perfectly grilled meat on top of the cool salad. The burger was plump, juicy, and satisfying. We ended up sharing it because it was so big. The French Dip....did not love when I had it because the meat was cut way too thick, but I'll give it another try. The shrimp and grits had a good serving of shrimp over grits that didn't need extra salt. The chef got the taste right. The salmon was blackened to perfection and served with zucchini and squash that we ate like a vacuum cleaner. I've only tasted the desserts....the banana pudding was stupendous. The bread pudding exactly the comfort food you want. There are several other desserts that have tree nuts that I couldn't eat, but everyone is raving about the desserts. So many staff stand out and have taken such good care of us since the opening....Lorenzo, Riley, Lane, Myra, FAITH...oh my goodness, she's the best. She just lights up the whole restaurant. Give it a try. Have a little bit of everything. They're working hard and making good food. = )
