East African coffee with a view from the Overlook Walk
Boon Boona, the Renton roaster, opened its fifth shop in February 2026 on Western Ave, right on the Overlook Walk between Pike Place and the waterfront.
The coffee is East African and roasted in house, and the view down to Elliott Bay is the best of any cafe in the city. Expect a queue on a sunny Saturday.

Boon Boona Coffee is a hidden gem in downtown Seattle! The coffee is incredibly smooth, rich, and full of unique flavors. I also appreciated the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff who were happy to answer questions and recommend drinks. It's a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. If you're looking for high-quality coffee with a unique East African influence, this place is definitely worth a visit. I'll be coming back whenever I'm in the area!

Added this coffee spot to my list while visiting Seattle. This place gets busy very quickly, so I had to take a chance on it. Ordered their version of an Americano - they called it an Africano which was great. Made me want to try it even more. A simple order with great taste and flavor.

We stopped by Boon Boona Coffee while exploring Pike Place Market on a rainy day and it was the perfect place to warm up. The service was very fast even though there were quite a few people inside. Our coffee was delicious, rich, and tasted very fresh. The atmosphere inside felt cozy and relaxing while listening to the rain outside. They also have two restrooms available for customers, but you need to ask the employees for the access code. I would highly recommend stopping here if you are visiting Pike Place Market and want a great cup of coffee.
