Tacoma's matcha shop finally opens downtown

A sage-green sign teased this one downtown for months before Jin Jin, the Tacoma matcha shop, opened on 4th Ave in January 2026.

Black sesame, misugaru and pistachio are the flavors worth queuing for, and queuing is what happens at lunchtime.

I was really excited to try this place since the matcha drink color is super deep green and the drink combos sounded so good! We got the pistachio matcha and the misugaru matcha… no matcha flavor to be found. Strong pistachio and syrup flavors but disappointingly mild matcha. Maybe a matcha beginner who doesnt like strong matcha flavor would like these drinks! Just tasted like milk and syrup. We also tried their queso bread, which was delicious!

Jin Jin Matcha is a gem in Seattle. The banana matcha was unreal—smooth, flavorful, and one of the best matcha drinks I’ve had. Service was also impressively quick, which made the whole experience even better. My only tip: ask for less ice, as the flavor came through much better that way (at least for my taste). Definitely worth a visit!

By far my favorite matcha spot! First time I’ve ever gone was in the downtown Tacoma location and I am so so happy that theyve opened up a shop in downtown Seattle I recommend the strawberry matcha latte. The first sip is like drinking strawberry milk thats not too sweet. Then it blends so well with the matcha itself. If youre feeling extra you can ask to put the einspanner cream on top (is an extra $1 tho). ((: Thank you! I hope to be back again

It’s alright. Strawberry matcha was not my favorite, they don’t do small chunks of strawberry (like a jam) it’s like a syrup they mix in. Tastes very sweet. Would recommend Taz instead. 4 stars because it’s decorated nice and like to see more local businesses. Liked their Tacoma location better

Great small matcha shop! Great selection of drinks without the long lines of most matcha places. Highly recommend Misugaru
