Mộc Hoa Viên Chay

Full Vietnamese meals built entirely from plants
Mộc Hoa Viên proves vegetarian food in Hai Phong doesn't have to mean bland canteen trays. The kitchen turns out full Vietnamese meals from plants only, mock-meat dishes sitting next to vegetable-forward plates that skip the substitution trick.
Buddhist dietary-day regulars mix with diners who just want a break from the city's seafood-heavy default. The room has more warmth than most chay spots manage.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a vegetarian meal on the full moon of the fifth lunar month. The location is easy to find as the restaurant is inside a trade union hotel. There is ample parking for motorbikes and cars. There are two buffet lines: one in the lobby and one inside the restaurant. The price is 135k VND on weekdays and 180k VND on holidays. The buffet offers a variety of dishes, but mostly fried items with few steamed ones. The highlights are the vegetable soup and crab noodle soup. The broth is delicious and easy to eat. We had mushroom hot pot, but the ingredients for dipping were a bit sparse. Overall, it's good. You should go early as it gets very crowded on the full moon day.

The food is pretty good. I also like the food here; everything is delicious. The free parking for customers right on the main road near the lotus pond is a big plus.

A truly enchanting place to spend a quiet evening in Hai Phong. The restaurant is very well-maintained, with spacious rooms and an additional outdoor area in the back. The food is absolutely top-quality, and since it's a buffet, we were able to try different options and discover new and original flavors. The staff is cheerful and extremely welcoming. I highly recommend it. Kudos to all the staff. Very fair prices.

The food is delicious, really delicious! If the owner reads this, please keep the five pungent spices (onion, garlic, and shallots) separate so that customers can add them themselves, instead of mixing them with the main dishes. Many practitioners avoid these spices! The food is so good, I will visit more often to support you! Nam Mô A Di Đà Phật (Homage to Amitabha Buddha)
