A zellige-tiled café above the square named for Maurice Audin
Skip the minimalist look most new Algiers cafés chase. Le Audin goes the other way, layering zellige tilework and traditional detailing above Place Maurice Audin, named for the mathematician and independence activist who disappeared under torture in 1957.
It sits on Rue Didouche Mourad, right in the middle of Alger Centre's café strip, with the square's tree-lined quiet as your terrace view.

This has been one of the best experiences of my stay in Algiers. The coffeehouse is a testament of what an Algerian coffee place should look and feel like. It’s a mix of Algerian culture and modern art. The manager Amir is one of the nicest people ever. The waiters and waitresses are kind and understanding. You must visit.

a cool experience overall. Nice and friendly staff, but the cheesecake i got wasnt really a cheesecake, so there’s that. Might come back but definitely not for dessert.

A very nice place with good music. The dessert was absolutely delicious, but i found the service was a bit slow even though it wasn’t crowded

Ate here yesterday. Service was exceptional! Really wonderful. Food was fantastic bar one minor issue. I had the Algerian Chicken Salad brunch item. The salad was delicious, very tasty and filling. Coffee was great too as was the lemon juice. The waffle was tasty however a little over cooked on one side. Just a little. Overall a really great experience at this gem!
