Watch Antiguan artists work, then buy straight off the wall

Climb the stairs at Redcliffe Quay and you land in a working studio, not a gift shop. More than thirty Antiguan and Barbudan artists paint, sculpt and print here in public, and what they finish that week goes straight up on the wall.

Expect oils, prints and sculpture, some built around Taíno and Arawak motifs, with prices from a small print to a full canvas. Painter and sculptor Stephen Murphy runs the collective, which grew out of his Zemi Art Gallery downstairs. The Tourism Authority has already launched Art Week here twice.

Good to know

• It is up a flight of stairs from Zemi Art Gallery, easy to walk past at ground level.
• Artists often work in the room, so you can buy directly from whoever made the piece.
