All-day cafe at the far end of Montague Road
Most West End foot traffic gives up before it reaches Tom's Kitchen, which is exactly the point. The menu runs breakfast into lunch and stays short enough that you can tell someone actually thought about it.
Parking is easy out here, unlike Boundary Street, so skip the circling. Weekends get busy, but there's room to breathe on a weekday morning.

Best avocado toast in Brisbane, lots of avo, crunchy, healthy seeds and cranberries and feta on top, really delish. $22. Worth it. Friendly wait staff. Located in historic QLD Ballet building. Smallish but sit inside or outside in courtyard, or under cover near the building front doors and watch ballerinas go by. Beautiful tin roof, arched windows. Enjoyable non-intrusive music. Good coffee.

Good place to sit before or after the show. Price is average, food and drinks were a bit cold, but no red flags for sure. A bit hard to find a place to sit. For defence of this place Be cautious about some people telling that they are sick after meal they had in certain places. Unless it is multiple people food poisoning/contamination the gastro usually comes from previous (hours-days) public contacts and not from the food they just had. But comments are still important to read and appreciate

Value for money is hit or miss depending on the food item. Potato Rosti Plate was too small to be worth $24 when Pork and Fennel Eggs Benedict, which had a much larger portion, was $22. Flavours and quality were great though. Coffee was also one of the better ones. The outdoor seatings in the garden were very nice.

Enjoyed a lovely solo dining experience at Tom’s kitchen. Bonnie and all the girls were so lovely and helpful, 10/10 service. Had the delicious goodness bowl, the sauce and pumpkin were incredible (as was the whole meal). Very happy with my decision to pop in here and sit in the cute outdoor space!

We have visited the Thomas Dixon centre a few times for performances, this time we tried the casual dining at Toms Kitchen. The TD centre is a great asset for Brisbane, with Toms handily located off the front entry. Choice of either inside dining or outside in the garden terrace when the weather gods are smiling. Fast and friendly service, nice coffee and food, especially the fries. We arrived by bus (bus stops located opposite on Montague Road or at the other end along Hoogley Street. Toms is a good cafe option even if not visiting for the ballet.
