Irish stout and live bands on the Manly Corso
Stout and live music aren't the usual script for Manly's main strip, but The Gopher runs both most nights. Two food and drink outlets named it among Sydney's best new bars and pubs this year.
It's a five-minute walk from the wharf, straight off the ferry. Free entry on the smaller gig nights. The pint gets poured slowly, so don't rush the order.

An absolute gem of a bar! It’s been immaculately refurbished, looks fantastic, great atmosphere. Jess and Jorja made my visit the best! There’s live music every day, the service is excellent, the food is great, and it’s open late!!! Highly recommend…

Had a really good night here. The seccy was genuinely friendly and welcoming when we arrived, which was a nice touch. The guinness was spot on, and the live music (which we need more of these days) made the atmosphere even better. Just a great pub with a awesome vibe all round. Will definitely be back!

Visited recently and had a great experience. Excellent atmosphere, great beers on tap, and really good food too. The place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe and is definitely worth checking out.
