Italian food and cocktails on York Street, best after nine
Bar Bruno sits upstairs from the Razz Room on York Street, and it plays both sides: Italian cooking with a serious bar attached, or a bar that happens to cook serious Italian food. Depends on the hour you walk in.
Six o'clock brings the after-work crowd and the room fills fast. By ten it thins out, the kitchen keeps firing, and that's the better time to go.

We came here on a Friday for lunch and we really enjoyed our experience. First of all the service was great and the staff are very welcoming. They also welcome you with complimentary house marinaded olives which were so so good! So good I had to ask what was in their marinade. Great cocktails, you gotta try their margarita Italiano mmmmm. Nice selection of wines too. For entrees we got some oysters which were really fresh and their snapper crudo was delightful. For mains we got their beef short rib with a side of their Caesar salad and fries and all of it was really really good too. Nicely seasoned beef rib and oh so tender. Good chips and salad. We ended our meal with some affogato and their seasonal sorbet which was passion fruit and what a nice finish it was. Highly recommend this place and I am looking forward to coming back

Everything I experienced here was fabulous - from the food, to the decor, to the charming service and everything else in between. I took my partner here for his birthday and we both agreed it was ALL top notch. The coffees didn't disappoint either, nice and strong :)

We came here for a Saturday lunch only three or four days after they opened. Already the dining room was a well oiled machine. The kitchen did great as well. We really enjoyed the food, especially the eggplant parmigiana and the mortadella skewer. Other outstanding dishes were the brussel sprouts and the macaroni cheese. The negroni was delicious to start with then a lovely red wine and finished with an amaretto. Great service and a lovely dining room. Rounded out our visit. We would definitely come back again.
