Hungarian cooking on a Randwick corner
Goulash this good is close to a Sydney rarity, and Corner 75 doesn't hold back on the paprika. Schnitzel too, plus dumplings that ride shotgun with the goulash and shouldn't be skipped.
It's a suburban corner shop, not a destination dining room, and the prices reflect that. Bring a bottle if they still allow it. One of Broadsheet's picks for best new restaurants this year, and it earns it.

We had a great dinner at Corner 75. It's a really cool spot with lots of interesting dishes and drinks on the menu. We had the làngos, goulash soup, pork and paprika sausage, pork schnitzel, nokedli and creamed spinach, followed by the Zserbo torta. Everything was really enjoyable. It feels very traditional and authentic, and service is fast, friendly and professional. We were seated at the bar, and looked after by Toni. She had great knowledge of the food and wine menus, was bubbly, friendly and gave us lots of helpful tips to help enjoy our meals even more. We would highly recommend.

Cosy, warm decor gives 20th century vibes with walls of memorabilia and photographs; Central European, antique vibes. Simple plate presentation and non-pretentious food feels down-to-earth and homey. Food: Duck liver parfait, fried potato and pickled plum: the fried potato is crunchy on the outside but not hard. Soft in the middle. Perfect. The sweetness of the plum and potato with the salty parfait seems to balance each other and works out to be a delight for the palate. Parfait texture very smooth and creamy, no lumps at all. 5/5 Langos: Imagine a deep fried garlic bread donut (isn’t this a dream for most of us?) I loved how it was dense in the middle. Freshly fried till golden. Slightly seasoned and garlicky++. Sour cream and chive sauce refreshes the palate when combined with warm bread. Texture is somewhat chewy which is great. Bread wasn’t even as oily as I expected. 5/5 Pickles Bonito, horseradish and caper: Tender meat, tastes kinda like Kingfish. The horseradish , which tastes a bit pickled, gives it a bit of sourness and juiciness with a tinge of wasabi like flavour. 4.7/5 (I really enjoyed it) LP’s Pork and Paprika Sausage with Lecso- this sausage has a balanced flavour profile - nothing too salty or spicy. I note it has a very smooth filling texture with no bits of cartilage or bone that you find in other sausages and is overall quite tender, the casing definitely holds the juice in well. The Lecso (sauce) is great and packs flavour; peppers well cooked almost caramelised like the onions and is actually a tad spicy. 4.5/5 Turo’s dumplings, mushroom and sour cream: the dumplings taste like long gnocchi but cheesier - imaging korean rice cakes but cheesy instead of just rice. The sauce is rich and creamy combined with the sour cream. The sauce is actually a bit heavily seasoned, with a strong mushroom flavour. 4/5 Red Cabbage and Caraway (side): tastes pickled, a bit sour; tart aftertaste. Quite salty eaten alone actually. 3.5/5 Pork schnitzel: thin which adds to your perception of tenderness (not necessarily a bad thing). Simple seasoning with sea salt on top. Lemon wedge available if you want to add juice - interestingly the taste reminds me of a fried fish fillet from the local fish and chip shop. Perfectly cooked though; breading separates easily from the meat. 4/5 Apple strudel with sweetened cream: served warm, cream only slightly sweet so it goes really well. The pastry was crispy, flaky, crumbly yet not soaked. 4.8/5 Other notes: Service was quite good, they take the time to explain the menu which I appreciate. Bathroom decor was in keeping with antique vibe but was quite clean and adequately stocked. I am always fond of hand towels (single use of course). The cocktails here are quite strong - don’t underestimate the small size.

Great vibe, feels like you are stepping into a little pocket of Hungary. It is a small restaurant so feels nice and intimate and is always packed. Make sure you book ahead as it is usually booked out. The soups were a highlights, get the mini size to try them both. Everything tasted incredible and isn't a meal that you would get many other places in Sydney. A must try. Staff were super friendly and fun and would give recommendation on both the wines to try and food combos! Is a bit more expensive but worth it for a great date night.

Came here for my 30th birthday dinner with my best friend and had the most incredible time! The atmosphere was so welcoming. A huge drinks menu with something for everyone - decent menu that was well explained and the staff were so so beautiful and we felt extremely looked after! We had a bit of everything - I can really recommend the langos (just get the side of salmon roe) the crudités were beautiful and the desserts were all *chefs kiss.* Also.. a shout out to the amazing paint job in the toilet haha. Thank you Paige for looking after us, we will recommend to everyone and cannot wait to be back! 🌸

Easily one of the best food experiences I’ve had in Sydney. Corner 75 is an absolute triumph of quality food, service and atmosphere. You feel like you’re sitting in nonnas dining room surrounded by friends and family while enjoying incredibly delicious Hungarian food. Service is top tier and extremely friendly. Sensational experience, I’ll be back many more times in the future.
