Bar Centrale opened on Bergstraße in early June 2025, run by Christina-Sonja Weinhandl of Genussprojekt in a space that used to be a wine trading office. The idea follows the Italian day bar format: espresso and pastries in the morning, aperitivo cocktails and prosciutto plates as afternoon turns to evening.
A short list of daily specials shifts with what's fresh, and the sunny terrace out front has made it a lunchtime regular for the office workers and shoppers nearby. Bar Centrale is the latest addition to Genussprojekt's growing lineup in Salzburg's old town.

Came upon this café by chance. The lady who served us was very friendly and very efficient as it seemed she was the only staff at the time. Food was great, we had a Mediterranean Flammkuchen and the Italian ham and cheese platter. It's a perfect spot to relax from the crowds with some drinks and a lighter meal.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant with a group of six, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere captivated us—it's a beautifully designed space that instantly made us feel welcome. The staff were incredibly attentive, making sure every detail was perfect throughout the evening. The food? Simply delicious! Each dish was not only flavorful but also presented with such artistry that it felt like a feast for both the eyes and the palate. What really set the evening apart was the owner, who personally took the time to converse with us. He shared the inspiring story behind the restaurant and gave us insight into the thought process behind the menu. It added such a personal touch to our experience. We loved every minute of it and can't recommend this place highly enough! If you're looking for a dining experience that's as exceptional as it is memorable, this is the spot.

Absolutely delicious, rich flavour, cooked with passion for taste, not too crowded, worth the little detour from other tourist attractions, we came here for the second time, and we will come again!

Amazing spot in Salsburg! The food is insanely good and the service is top-notch! Everyone was extremely welcoming, very helpful and full of life. They offered us a few things on the house and made us feel extremely welcome. Highly recommend this spot if you stay here or are visiting Salsburg.
