Khmer seafood on the waterfront, from before the casinos arrived
Order the grilled or steamed seafood here and you're eating the way this stretch of Sihanoukville's waterfront ate long before the casino towers went up around it. The kitchen skips the hot pot and dim sum wave that Chinese tourism brought to most of the newer places nearby.
The crowd is the real draw: longtime local regulars sitting alongside the newer wave of Chinese residents now living and working here, a mix you rarely see in a dining scene that's otherwise split sharply along those lines.

The food was exceptional, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and ensured we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and perfect for a relaxed evening.

I usually come over here for lunch and dinner with my family and friends. The taste of the food is nice and easy to park but I recommend booking in advance during the public holiday or weekend.

Chhne Meas felt like the kind of seafood restaurant locals and returning tourists naturally gravitate towards — lively atmosphere, huge tables of shared dishes and an endless flow of fresh seafood coming out of the kitchen. The menu was broad and very Cambodian in style, with grilled seafood, stir-fries, soups and shellfish dominating most tables. It had that reassuring “highly rated local institution” energy where the place is constantly busy and everyone seems to know exactly what they came for. The standout dish for me was easily the stuffed squid. The squid itself stayed tender without becoming rubbery, while the filling added a savoury richness and texture that made it far more interesting than standard grilled seafood. It balanced smokiness, sweetness and that slight seafood brininess really well, especially when eaten with the sauces on the side. In a meal full of solid seafood dishes, the stuffed squid was the one item that genuinely stood above the rest and made the restaurant memorable for me.

Great food and friendly service, but there were occasional issues with a bad smell that affected the atmosphere. Worth a visit for the flavors, though!

- Food: Seafoods are fresh and tasty. I always go there when I visit Sihanouk ville. - Price: Reasonable for the food quality. - Hygiene: Not a 5 star but this is more than acceptable. Especially, their newly renovated toilets are very clean compared to other restaurants and public toilet. - Service: Very fast, friendly and responsive. - Location and atmosphere: enjoy the food with the sea views. There's a private parking lots just for the customer.
