Vintage and streetwear, upstairs and easy to miss

Finding Mestizo means walking past it once first. The entrance sits off the parking lot behind 2120 Kensington Road NW rather than facing the street, and even regulars mention missing it the first time.

Inside is vintage, streetwear and shoes. A run of western wear fits the city, bought and traded over the counter as much as sold. Kensington already had plenty of independents. What it lacked was a resale shop at this size.

Good to know

• Unit 210 is upstairs and easy to walk past, there is a parking lot at the back.
• Open daily 12 to 7; they buy, sell and trade, so bring things in.
