The El Milagro opening locals actually rate

Skip the seafront menus built for tourists. Aurorus sits on a commercial strip on Cuatro Esquinas in El Milagro, and it's the opening people in La Serena's food scene point to when they argue the city has finally grown past souvenir dining.

The location says everything: this is where La Serena's real restaurant trade has been quietly moving, away from the coast and into the neighborhoods that actually cook.

Without a doubt, the best restaurant in La Serena. Personalized service, the most elaborate and delicious dishes I've ever tasted. Everything had its purpose in every part of the dish: the textures, the prominent and subtle flavors—each played its role in elevating the culinary experience. A cuisine of gastronomic excellence rarely seen in this region. The corn crème brûlée is a marvel! I must also mention the excellent service we received—very personalized and always with a smile.

Honestly, it was an experience that completely exceeded our expectations. My partner and I ended up talking about the flavors, reflecting on each dish, and laughing a lot about the whole experience, which was and will undoubtedly be unforgettable. The attention to detail in every preparation and the wine pairing made everything feel special from beginning to end. Thank you for creating such a unique, personal, and memorable experience. Without a doubt, an experience we would wholeheartedly recommend ✨

I'll start by telling you how we found this unique restaurant. My friend and I went to the beach to walk her dog. It was getting late, and we were looking for somewhere to eat, but she wanted to take her dog home. So we started looking for places nearby, and I remembered that I'd wanted to try this restaurant for a long time because the videos they post look so intimate, and the dishes are beautifully presented. So we messaged them on Instagram, and they replied immediately that they had a table available. We arrived at the restaurant, and they served us right away. They gave us a physical menu, which I really appreciate since a menu is also an experience, and that's something that's been lost with the ubiquitous QR codes. They explained which dishes are popular at the restaurant, and I should also mention that they have a non-alcoholic pisco sour. Of course, I ordered mine with alcohol; it has an infusion that I don't quite remember, but it's the best pisco sour I've ever had—it was delicious. We ordered three dishes to share because we wanted the full experience. Let's start with the appetizer, called gyozas. This dish consists of dumplings filled with mushrooms and refried beans, ponzu sauce, coral, and scallions. The presentation was 10/10. I was surprised by the combination of the filling, as mushrooms are supposed to be quite strong, but the filling was very well done. Next, we had the main course, which we were told is one of their famous dishes: ossobuco and pastelera. This dish features ossobuco, corn pastelera, hominy demi-glace, basil, and cherry tomatoes. We were told the ossobuco was slow-cooked for 24 hours, and the meat truly spoke for itself when it fell off the bone. I was obsessed with this dish; it's an exquisite combination. I would definitely return for this dish; it is indeed a star dish. Now for the most anticipated part: dessert. We ordered a Crème Brûlée, which has: caramelized corn cream, tomato jam, and a basil cookie. It sounds exotic, and I love it because they've given a classic dessert a Chilean twist, and it was exquisite, absolutely delicious. This restaurant is excellent; there are no waiters, the chefs themselves serve you, which makes the experience even more rewarding. You can sit at the bar and watch them cook. They're incredibly friendly, and we chatted about the dishes. They explained a few things to us, and the house treated us to a dessert called Chocolate & Carmenere, which has: chocolate cream, Carmenere sauce, red berries, orange, chocolate shavings and crumble, and mint. I'm not a big fan of dark chocolate, but my friend said she absolutely loved the dessert, 10/10, and I appreciated how fresh it was. I'm so grateful for the positive energy and enthusiasm they put into their dishes; it really shows. Thank you for bringing something different to the region.

Excellent food, top-quality ingredients, and signature cuisine on another level. A very modern and interesting concept, served by the owners themselves who add to this experience a pleasant atmosphere and guide you and explain what you are eating and drinking during your visit. It has a cozy place with limited reservations since it is a different kind of dining experience. Very good service and a good location
