The kitchen covers a real vegan menu (vegetable dishes, bruschetta, avocado toast, hummus sandwiches), a rarity in a city built almost entirely around pork and seafood.

Café El Mago describes itself as an art bar and café, and the description holds up: art on the walls, a rotating soundtrack, and handmade coffee and cocktails rather than anything off a syrup gun. It's been running since at least the late 2010s, well before the current wave of new Trinidad openings.
