Natural wine and tasting menus inside Brno's House of Arts
Kohout na víně occupies the House of Arts on Malinovského náměstí and pours from a cellar of more than 200 wines, weighted heavily toward natural bottles from Moravia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Italy. The kitchen runs à la carte alongside two tasting menus, with pairings to match.
The house dish is the namesake rooster cooked in wine, prepared differently depending on the day. The restaurant holds a Michelin listing, several GourmetBrno awards and a Gault&Millau nod, making it one of the more serious wine addresses in the city.

Excellent food, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere. The lunch menu offers good value for money at around 30 €. Definitely worth a visit.

We found the place by chance...this is a fine dining place, when we were there only one guest was staying there...service was nice the girl from the staff was polite and always gave us a proper explanation what is on table ...we took a longer tasting menu...everything was absolutely ok only consommé was beyond expectations...so it was suprise to find such a place there..personally I liked...

Food was pretty good, but some flavours were a bit harsh and superficial, like the pork starter. The duck breast had way too much sauce on it. Halibut was definitely the best and most refined dish we had. Also the consommé was delicious. The sommelier spoke a bit softly, but was super friendly and served some interesting wines.

had a lovely lunch date there. could have been a dinner date but only the lunch menu offers a pescetarian option. 🎣 all three and a half (amuse bouche is literally one bite) courses were very well composed and delicious - just the right amount of food for lunch. wine recommendations were excellent - multiple local options carfully selected for what's on the plate. zen style atmosphere, fair prices: full recommendatation.

One of our favorite restaurants in Brno. We have visited three times so far, and every single visit has been outstanding. It is a small and quiet restaurant offering fine dining with beautiful food presentation and very well-balanced ingredients. The chef clearly knows exactly what he is doing. The portions are on the smaller side, as expected with fine dining, but in the end the overall experience is absolutely worth it. The service is excellent—very attentive, with great recommendations and well-chosen wines. You can always count on having a wonderful and enjoyable evening here.
