Open-kitchen tasting menus and local produce, a Michelin pick off Běhounská

Element sits on Běhounská with an open kitchen and a stripped-back, industrial room, and it has become the usual answer when someone in Brno wants a proper tasting menu without Prague prices. The Michelin guide singles out its five-course menu as the best-value serious dinner in the city.

The cooking is world-inspired but built on Czech ingredients: dishes like grilled pork belly with ginger spinach and fermented black bean sauce show the range. It runs à la carte as well as the set menus, and the counter seats put you right in front of the pass.

We came here completely by accident and got lost in the depths of flavors. Thank you so much, we highly recommend it.

A very warm and humorous welcome from the waiter, which immediately made us feel comfortable. The interior was beautiful. The lighting was quite bright and white again (do Czechs prefer this kind of light?), but this time it didn't bother us too much. The dishes were absolutely fantastic. We started with a delicious rabbit terrine and beef tartare, followed by succulent chicken with soft, subtle, yet interesting flavors, and a perfectly cooked sturgeon. We chose a beautiful local Chardonnay, a bottle of Gala 2024. At the start of the evening, they could have been a bit more proactive with refilling our glasses when they were almost empty, but that improved later on. The cheese platter was a bit boring, though, and they should explain what types of cheeses are on the plate. All in all a great restaurant, and definitely the best one we visited in Brno.

We were very pleasantly surprised by our visit to Elements. The food was excellent, especially my beef tartare, which was outstanding. The drinks were very good, the atmosphere and ambience were lovely, and although the restaurant was quite busy, the service remained attentive and professional. A special mention goes to Mikulas – his service was top-notch and truly appreciated. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in all of Brno.

A Culinary Gem in Brno! We were four friends, wandering the streets of Brno without a reservation, and stumbled upon Element Bar & Restaurant. What a lucky find! The food? Honestly, it was the best I’ve had in ages. Every dish was a masterpiece—refined, balanced, and full of surprises. As someone who appreciates thoughtful fusion cuisine, this hit all the right notes. It felt like a culinary journey, crafted with care and creativity. Prices were surprisingly fair for such high quality, and the cocktail menu? A dream. So many choices, each one delicious and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly and thoughtful. As someone who travels often and seeks out memorable dining experiences, Element truly stood out. It’s the kind of place you want to return to—and bring others along to share the magic.
