Heavy, hand-worked Indian furniture on Frederiksbjerg's design strip

Skip the pale Danish design in the other windows on M.P. Bruuns Gade. ByMejls deals in furniture sourced in India, along with lamps, textiles and smaller interior pieces, all heavier and more worked than what's next door.

Hanne Mejls and her family ran this out of an old restaurant building in Søndervig on the west coast before shutting it down and rebuilding in Aarhus. The new shop opened a short walk from the main station in March 2026. It's closed all of July.

Good to know

• Closed for the whole of July; the webshop stays open.
