Record shop in Los Prados run by two collectors

Noemí de Jesús and Henry Tineo didn't want a shop that only sold things. Café en Pasta is set up so people can hang around, listen and argue about pressings.

The bins run from merengue and salsa to rock, jazz and independent releases. The shop also carries turntables, accessories, artist books and band shirts. It's part of a small run of Santo Domingo vinyl shops that grew from selling out of a laptop to holding a lease.

Good to know

• They run listening sessions and artist visits in the shop, the dates go up on Instagram and places are limited.
• Turntables, cleaning kit and cartridges are stocked alongside the records, so you can start from nothing.
