Old Andean pasture cattle, cooked to prove a point

Luis Maldonado built Tributo around beef from cattle raised at altitude on pasture, specifically the old Andean cow that most restaurants avoid. The sourcing is the whole argument.

The dining room is bigger than the concept needs, something Maldonado has said himself. Order the meat: it's genuinely different from what a typical Quito grill house puts on the table.

Absolutely Incredible experience. Our waiter Andres explained every dish flawlessly. Every meal had a message, every part of the cow was used. Dishes I never thought id like were amazing! Reccomend the vaca vieja tartare and their chocolate desert. When we came around for desert, the pastry chef Joaquin came around with a cacao coated gelatin. Incredible pastry chef and we truly saw his passion! Reccomend all their Vaca Vieja dishes since it is a very unique type of cow.

I came expecting to try the one same thing I try at every steakhouse. However, I got this awesome waitress, Francis. She explained the restaurant concept and answered my questions and gave advice about a bunch of items on the menu I wasn't sure about. I ended up trying a bunch more than I expected. Everything was delicious! Definitely listen to what Francis recommends and come hungry so you can try them!

I came here for a work dinner and have no idea what I ate but it was delicious. I used Google Translate while the head chef was presenting everything and I was so confused, so I just ate it all. The pork was perfect. The steak, although less cooked that I would have asked for, was exactly how it should have been. And the dessert, specifically the sorbet, was better than anything I’ve had in a while. I had meat sweats all night long but it was so worth it.

One of the best places I've eaten in Ecuador so far. It's hard to find gourmet food here and this place definately checked the boxes, in both experience and delicious food. Obviously it's not cheap.

If you’re in Quito and appreciate exceptional beef, Tributo is a must. The Chef has crafted the beef selections with impressive precision and artistry. Each dish is beautifully presented, thoughtfully executed, and delivers bold, balanced flavors. The quality is truly Michelin level. From the plating to the ambiance, the entire experience is one of a kind — an unforgettable dining experience in Quito.
