Vanessa Franz opened Café Franz on Anna-Zielenziger-Straße in spring 2025, one of three new addresses that turned the rebuilt street next to Alter Markt into a small dining strip. The menu sticks to traditional recipes: cake baked fresh daily by a chef friend, panini, a soup that changes weekly, coffee, a short wine list, and an Aperol Spritz.
Tables face Brandenburg's state parliament, with seating stretching into the evening through summer.

We chose this place based on user reviews, but unfortunately it was not good at all. The coffee was not good and the cakes were very ordinary.

Its s cute place i liked the different types of Matcha you were able to order. The food was good, i liked that i got some fruit on the platter too unexpectedly. I would go again for the Matcha to try out a new option.

Service: The overall service was quite disappointing. We had to wait 20 minutes just to get a waiter's attention and place our order, which is unacceptable. The only saving grace was the barista, who deserves a special shoutout for doing a great job. Food: The breakfast was okay, but nothing to write home about. Average food combined with long wait times left us with a rather underwhelming experience.

Was very good, would be easier if cakes have names and they also make sense (e.g., apple-cherry cake did not have any apple, Schwarzwälder Torte was not really the one). Also for the Caramel Cookie cake the biscuit and the creme was a bit bland Otherwise was quite good and nice to sit outside
