Sourdough and espresso in a 600-square-metre former hairdressing-supply shop
Brotique opened its second, much bigger location on Olgastraße on 23 May 2025, taking over a former hairdressing-supply store and turning it into a 600-square-metre bakery with a café attached. The original spot at Strohberg 21 in the Lehenviertel is still running.
Beyond the usual sourdough lineup, this branch has its own barista bar pouring beans from BlackBird Coffee, a roastery in Tübingen.

They bake the bread right here. While you look for the right bread or other product, you can smell the fresh bread throughout the store. They have a variety of products, such as cheese and eggs. I tried the cardamom bun and the parmesan bun, both of which were delicious!

Their bread is fab! They use sourdough for all of their breads. Haven't tried one yet that wasn't great. Make sure to try their olive focaccia!

Friendly and helpful staff! Cardamom buns are a must-try! The variety and flavor of their sourdough bread are AMAZING.

This place is decent, but the prices are a bit much. The taste is just okay, nothing to write home about. It doesn't even come close to Danish Bakery! 😕

The cinnamon roll is so delicious!!! It's hard to find a roll this good in the US. Perfection! Also the ham sandwich and cappuccino was really good, space is awesome and the bakers/baristas are really friendly!
