Skip the licence-conscious bars downtown. Up on Lefkosias, north of Plateia Amerikis, Diethnes keeps things simple: a short cocktail list made properly, records played loud enough to matter, and no door policy worth worrying about.

Few visitors make it this far up from Omonia, which is exactly why the room fills with locals instead of tourists. It also means Diethnes stays open later than most of the centre.
