George, The Lobby Bar

All-day lobby bar on Syntagma Square

George works whether you land at eleven in the morning or roll in at midnight. It's the new bar inside the King George, built to actually be a bar rather than a waiting room for the elevators.

Athens hotel bars have leveled up since the Grande Bretagne next door raised the bar. Sit inside the lobby, not the terrace, if you want to actually hear whoever you're with.

Beautiful bar. Incredibly good drinks. But most of all, service that puts almost any other hotel bar to shame. Marifenia, our waitress was so kind, so accommodating, and SO FUNNY! My husband and I travel a great deal and this brief but delightful experience on our way out of the King George hotel will stand out as a lifelong memory.

Incredible food. Highly recommend the steak sandwich. We had the soup of the day which was the mushroom soup which should be a staple there it was spectacular

Hands down best cocktails you can get in Athens! Such creative combinations I guarantee you haven’t tasted before. Service team was attentive, fun and welcoming (thank you George, Katerina and the rest of the team ). Food was also punchy and tasty, again with bold combinations. Overall they made our evening fun and filled with unexpected tastes! Happy we found this gem “hidden” next to Grand Bretagne Hotel! 100% will visit again!
