A working kafeneio inside a 15th-century Ottoman bathhouse

Most of Thessaloniki's Ottoman buildings sit locked and empty. This one serves coffee under its original domes. Bey Hamam runs as an urban kafeneio inside a restored bathhouse on Mitropolitou Gennadiou, pouring breakfast, brunch, meze and drinks into the evening beneath the bath's old light shafts.

The building is one of the oldest still standing in the city. A rooftop bar has already been announced for the floor above.
