KGL

A decade of dressing other people's stores, now she's built her own concrete one
Kanika Goyal spent ten years selling her label through multi-brand stores before KGL, her first standalone shop, opened at the Dhan Mill compound in Chhatarpur. Architect Aayushi Malik built the interior out of raw concrete and heavy geometry, with none of the softness you'd expect from a clothing store.
One corner holds a library of books, art and design objects the studio pulls ideas from, and everything there is meant to be handled, not just admired. The racks carry KGL's usual mix of graphic prints, streetwear proportions and collaborations that have stretched as far as Disney characters. It's the first time the label's full range has landed under one Delhi roof.
Good to know
- The library section is browsable - it is not just set dressing.
- Several other designer stores sit in the same compound, so plan more than one stop.

The store is an ginormous pocket of creativity, be it their ethos of designing their store or their clothes. A treasure chest of cool and chaotic, surreal and whimsical when it comes to their garments, existing in a calm, brutalist paradox. The staff is also lovely to interact with!
