David Thompson's fire-grilled Thai food, southern-style heat
Skip the mild, central-Thai flavors most Indian Thai spots serve. Fireback cooks over charcoal and open flame, chasing the sharper heat of southern Thailand, with David Thompson's name on the menu and Kaustubh Haldipur running the kitchen day to day.
It opened in July 2026 at The Loft in RMZ Nexity, with BarBack attached for cocktails by Varun Sharma. Ask for a seat facing the grill.

Highly recommend the newly opened space in HITEC city for authentic Thai experience. Curated by Michelin starred chef, the name derives from the National bird of Thailand. The ambience is classy and the food is really amazing, gives you Bangkok vibe right in the middle of the city. We tried - Som tam salad, Prawn Nam Jim, Chicken Phad Thai, Red Curry with soft shell crab, Caramelized Banana & date pudding. Their in house soda selection is also a must try. Would recommend the Ginger Ale & Thai spiced Mango. Do check out the space.

Some restaurants serve food. The best ones create a feeling that stays with you long after you’ve left. 🇹🇭✨ That was my experience at Fireback. Already loved in Mumbai and Goa, Fireback has finally arrived in Hyderabad, bringing with it a refined interpretation of Thai cuisine inspired by the culinary philosophy of Michelin-starred Chef David Thompson. From the moment I walked in, everything felt intentional. The warm yet sophisticated interiors, elegant lighting, beautifully curated spaces, and a team that genuinely understands hospitality. Every recommendation came with a story, every interaction felt effortless, and every course arrived with perfect timing. It’s the kind of place where the experience is just as memorable as the food. The meal began with a comforting Coconut & Galangal Chicken Soup, followed by one of my favourites of the evening—the vibrant Pineapple Salad, balancing sweet, sour, spicy and fresh flavours beautifully. The Shiitake Mushroom Spring Rolls were crisp and flavourful, while the Prawns in Three-Flavour Sauce showcased the beautiful complexity that Thai cuisine is known for. The perfectly grilled Chicken Kor Gai brought smoky notes to the table before the iconic Pad Thai reminded me why classics never go out of style. Even the simple fried rice was executed with remarkable finesse. Dessert was a celebration in itself—house-made ice creams featuring Coconut Jaggery, Kaffir Lime and Coffee, paired with Grilled Banana and the nostalgic Water Chestnut Rubies, bringing the evening to a memorable close. What impressed me the most wasn’t a single dish. It was the consistency. Every plate, every conversation, every recommendation, every detail reflected the same commitment to hospitality and craftsmanship. In a city that’s rapidly evolving into a serious culinary destination, Fireback feels like another important milestone. It’s elegant without being intimidating, luxurious without feeling excessive, and authentic without trying too hard. If you’re looking for a restaurant where the entire experience—from the welcome to the final dessert—is as memorable as the food itself, Fireback deserves to be on your list. 💰 Approx. ₹2,000+ for two. Have you visited Fireback yet? I’d love to know which dish won your heart. 🇹🇭🍽️ #Fireback #FirebackHyderabad #ThaiCuisine #FineDining #HyderabadFood #HyderabadFoodie #LuxuryDining #DavidThompson #PadThai #ThaiFood #HyderabadRestaurants #RestaurantReels #FoodStory #ClickEatXploreYo

Fireback is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be so special. Every plate that arrived was a showstopper. The Chongqing chicken was outrageously good crispy, fiery, and dangerously addictive. The black pepper chicken was bursting with bold flavors, the jungle curry was rich and beautifully balanced, and the crispy soft-shell crab disappeared from the table in minutes. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, dessert stole the spotlight. The mango sticky rice was pure comfort, the grilled banana dessert was warm, smoky, and indulgent, and the cashew nut pudding was so silky and delicious that we were scraping the bowl clean. What truly elevated the evening was the exceptional hospitality. A heartfelt thank you to Chandan, who looked after us with genuine warmth, effortless charm, and impeccable attention to detail. His recommendations and thoughtful service made us feel like valued guests, not just customers. Some restaurants serve great food. Fireback & Barback creates unforgettable memories. An absolute feast for the senses, and without a doubt one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. Already looking forward to my next visit. If you're posting this on Google Reviews, this has a natural, authentic 5-star tone while still feeling enthusiastic rather than overly promotional.

There are restaurants that serve Thai cuisine, and then there are restaurants that celebrate its incredible diversity. Fireback belongs firmly in the latter category. Created by acclaimed chef David Thompson, whose work has helped bring authentic Thai cuisine to the global stage, Fireback is now in Hyderabad. The restaurant itself is understated yet elegant. Natural materials, muted colours and thoughtful lighting create an atmosphere that feels contemporary without losing its Southeast Asian character. It's sophisticated, but never intimidating. Our meal began with a vibrant Thai Hot & Sour Prawn Soup, layered with citrusy freshness, aromatic herbs and just the right amount of heat. The Pineapple Salad offered a refreshing contrast, combining juicy pineapple, tamarind and roasted peanuts into a dish that was light yet packed with flavour. Among the small plates, the Fried Pork Belly stood out for its perfectly crisp exterior and succulent meat, while the Prawns Nam Jim delivered bold chilli flavours balanced beautifully by fresh herbs. The Thai BBQ Pork Ribs were another highlight—tender, smoky and deeply satisfying. No Thai meal is complete without Phad Thai, and Fireback's version demonstrates exactly why this humble noodle dish has become an international favourite. Every ingredient felt purposeful, creating layers of flavour rather than relying on sweetness alone. A delightful surprise came from Barback, the adjoining bar. We sampled almost their entire range of House Sodas—Thai Spiced Mango, Mint & Yuzu, Mixed Berry & Thyme, and Thai Basil Ginger Ale. Each was thoughtfully crafted, but the Mint & Yuzu and Thai Basil Ginger Ale were particularly refreshing and paired effortlessly with the food. What sets Fireback apart is its confidence. It doesn't simplify Thai cuisine or soften its personality. Instead, it embraces regional ingredients, traditional techniques and authentic flavour profiles, offering Hyderabad diners a taste that's remarkably close to what you'd find in Thailand itself. For anyone who enjoys exploring cuisines beyond the familiar, Fireback is one of Hyderabad's most exciting new restaurant openings.
