Oslo's light-roast coffee brand turned cocktail bar by night, on the ground floor of Ashta District 8
Fuglen opened on Jl. Senopati in November 2024, the Jakarta branch of a Norwegian roastery that has been quietly rewriting how Southeast Asia drinks its coffee since the Tokyo outpost landed in 2012. The house style is pale and fruit-forward, a deliberate contrast to the darker roasts most Jakarta cafes serve, brewed on vintage Norwegian equipment the brand ships in from its original Oslo shop.
By day it runs as a coffee bar with pastries and light bites. After dark, the same room turns into a cocktail bar, a format Fuglen pioneered at its first overseas location and has kept everywhere since. The Ashta District 8 address puts it a short walk from the rest of Senopati's cafe strip, though the crowd here skews toward people who came specifically for the roast.

Nice vibe and nice coffee, I tried to choose the coffee beans to make the ice coffee but I been told that I can’t.. I personally feel Melbourne coffees are way more better.

Visited Fuglen Jakarta and really loved the atmosphere. The place has that distinct Oslo-style aesthetic — cozy, minimalist, slightly vintage, and very thoughtfully designed. It’s both a coffee spot and a bar, which gives it a unique character throughout the day. The lighting is admittedly quite dim, but somehow that’s part of the charm. The ambience feels warm, calm, and incredibly relaxing — a great place to slow down, have conversations, or just enjoy some quiet time. Also, special thanks to Mas Adi for the excellent filter coffee. Smooth, clean, and carefully prepared. You can tell there’s genuine attention to detail here. Definitely one of the most atmospheric café-bar spots in Jakarta.

Such a beautiful cafe and very good coffee - had the iced shakerato latte. Mornings on Saturday very quiet, enjoyed the peace tremendously.

Super gorgeous interior and their coffee was good! I visited Fuglen in both Tokyo & Fukuoka, it was as good as there, if not…even better!

Tried the Shakerato at Fuglen and it was fantastic. Bold espresso flavor, perfectly chilled, and beautifully smooth with a light creamy foam. Refreshing, elegant, and not overly bitter. A great choice if you want strong coffee without milk.
