A vinyl-soundtracked coffee shop with a student discount, near Praxis

Rake In opened near Apartemen Praxis on Jalan Sono Kembang in July 2026, a small coffee shop built around a post-workout or post-workday wind-down rather than a work-from-cafe crowd. Vinyl plays through the space instead of the usual lo-fi playlist most new Surabaya cafes default to.

A 20 percent student discount runs standing, which has made it a regular stop for students from the nearby campuses rather than just an apartment-block coffee run. The bio describes the crowd behind it plainly as "boys just trying to rake in," a self-deprecating line that matches the shop's low-key, unpolished feel compared to its more aesthetic-driven neighbors.
