Riga's favorite city bar, now with a river view

Vest made its name on Stabu iela as one of Riga's defining city bars. Vest Osta is the waterfront sequel, a big terrace at the passenger port facing the Daugava, with burgers, steaks, bruschetta and a tomato cream soup that has its own fan base.

It only runs the warm months and shuts down for winter. The port spot predates the ExPorto boom next door, which now stacks a full evening within a five-minute walk.

Great place to sip on cocktails (!) or beer. The food was amazing - especially the ribs! Very nice, friendly staff. Great location by the river with a spacious terrace. Very recommended!

The food was okay, not as flavorful as I expected, and for the price you can find way better food and service at other restaurants. The service was fine, the waiter seemed like she just wanted to get home. We will not be coming back or recommending to others. Visited: 7.
