Madalitso serves Sichuan food in Salima town, a fairly unusual regional cuisine to find outside Malawi's bigger cities. Reviewers rate it close to 4.8 stars. Bold and properly spiced, not a toned-down version aimed at unfamiliar palates.

It sits apart from the resort restaurants that dominate Salima's dining scene, clustered around Senga Bay's beach hotels twenty minutes away. It draws locals and visitors wanting something besides grilled chambo for dinner. Worth the detour when Senga Bay's menus start to blur.
