Phase 2's first real café, and its ube drink is going viral
Calla sits inside the MACL Residence building in Hulhumalé Phase 2, and the ube-flavoured signature drink went semi-viral within weeks of opening. The rest of the drinks menu leans handcrafted, backed by a small brunch spread.
Most cafes on the island still crowd into the older, busier Phase 1. Calla is one of the few in Phase 2, so locals there don't have to cross the island for decent coffee anymore.

Calla has quickly become go-to spot in Phase 2, and for good reason. This restaurant offers a dining experience that punches well above its weight. Their Chicken Florentine was nothing short of perfection. The chicken breast was beautifully seared crispy on the outside yet succulent and juicy within. The Florentine sauce was a good balance: rich, and packed with garlic and cheesy notes, without being overly heavy. The bed of fresh spinach added a lovely earthy contrast, and the portion size was incredibly generous. Beyond the plate, the ambiance is wonderfully inviting. The seating is comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and larger groups. The staff here are genuinely warm and attentive, adding a personal touch that elevates the entire experience. Whether you're looking for a quiet dinner or a lively catchup with friends, Calla delivers on all fronts. It’s easily one of the best spots in Hulhumale for quality food and great vibes. Highly recommended!

Loved the interior and the atmosphere. The food & drinks are so good. Don’t forget to try the deserts too. 😍 Service is great and the staff are friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again. ❤️

The ambiance is fantastic, very beautiful, and perfect for girls' gatherings. However, there is still significant room for improvement in both the food and beverages. The mint mojito was overly sweet, the strawberry–kiwi smoothie was acceptable, while the cheesecake and chocolate mousse were fairly average.
