An inclusive coffee shop in Mabrouka, run by two sisters
Zakia and Soumaya opened Happy Place in Meknes's Mabrouka district in the summer of 2025 as an inclusive coffee shop: the baristas and kitchen staff are people with disabilities, trained and paid to run the counter instead of staying in the back. The brunch menu and the coffee get the reviews, but the hiring model is what regulars bring up first.
There's a quiet upstairs floor for anyone who wants to sit with a laptop for a few hours, something most Meknes cafés don't offer. It's open seven days a week from morning through early evening, and the sisters show up in most of the shop's own social posts, working the espresso machine alongside their staff.

Best Place in Meknes for breakfast, lunch with the perfect mix of Maroccan Food with western delicies like brownies, heavenly matcha cookies and healthy smoothies; Served by lovely staff, with inclusive policy! I don’t think the is a second (Happy) Place like thuis in Marocco

my friend and I visited Happy Place for the first time this past Sunday for brunch and it was a standout experience. Initially, we were drawn to support their inclusive mission of providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We left impressed by every facet of the establishment. The food was oh sooo good, fresh, and flavorful. The cafe manages to strike a perfect balance between a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and a cozy, community focused feel. It is the kind of spot where you feel immediately at home. A huge thank you to Zakia and Taha. Their warmth and professionalism made our visit even more memorable. They was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. There is also a charming small library located right out front. It is a wonderful touch that encourages community sharing, and I am already planning to bring a few books to donate on my next visit. Happy Place Cafe has officially earned a spot in our regular rotation. We will definitely be back soon.

Best Café and vibe in Meknès. I go to happy place very often and the team has become a family for me. They stand for high values, supporting people with disabilities, high quality healthy food and ecology. I am proud to have this business in my city. Support local businesses !!
