The Maris Piper team's move away from classic fine dining
Neo Bistro is owner Vagarsh Mogatseljan's follow-up to Maris Piper, run for years on the same Frans Halsstraat corner. The address stayed put; almost everything else about the restaurant changed.
With Neo, the team let go of set courses and formal ordering in favour of smaller, shareable dishes that shift with whatever the season offers.

My sister and I had an excellent meal here. Great shared dining experience with really good food. I can especially recommend the steak. They also have a well chosen wine selection. They even offer really good non alcoholic options too. The restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere both inside and on the terrace.

I would echo previous reviews. We sat outside and had the chef's tasting menu. Service was flawless (the owner, extremely friendly, was expediting and serving as well). Food was exceptional in quality as well as value (EU49 per person, 4 courses, first two entirely vegetarian and delicious; smoking deal, IMHO). I had the owner choose wine for each course, and he graciously also made several mocktails for my 15 yo daughter. Can't wait to bring my wife; she'll love it. Very romantic inside as well. Think of Paris, but with better service... Just a lovely place; highly recommended.

One of the best meals I’ve had. The outdoor ambiance, wine pairings, and food were all 10/10, with excellent service.

We had a great meal overall. The food was excellent, and the duck was genuinely one of the best I’ve had in a long time, perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and the highlight of the evening. The only downside was the service, which was noticeably slow throughout the meal. We spent quite a bit of time waiting between courses and getting attention from the staff. The team was friendly, but the pace of service definitely took away from the experience. That said, the quality of the food more than made up for it. If the service becomes a bit more efficient, this place would be outstanding. I’d happily return for the duck alone.
