Hunan heat by the canal, from the FuLu Mandarin team

Sichuan numbs. Hunan burns. That's the whole pitch at Xiang, the third restaurant from the team behind FuLu Mandarin and Oriental City, and the first in town to give Hunan its own room.

Expect fresh, dried and pickled chillies in most dishes, plenty of sour alongside the heat, and wok cooking over high flame. It's a canal-side corner spot on the Oude Doelenstraat, a short walk from the Dam.
