All day breakfast on a quiet corner south of the centre

Pancakes with red fruit, yoghurt and crumble at three in the afternoon, same as at nine in the morning. That is the whole idea at Gloei, tucked into a residential corner of Eindhoven south on the Mecklenburgstraat, well away from the shopping crowds on the Demer.

The kitchen runs seven days a week and the room fills with locals rather than passers-through. It is one of several breakfast spots that opened in Eindhoven this year, and the one that sits furthest from the centre.

What a nice little new breakfast spot. Lovely in the sunshine, friendly staff, tasty food, and a nice atmosphere. It's great that there is a wide selection of vegan options. I will definitely be back for the lactose- and gluten-free chocolate and forest fruit cake!

I know it’s a new place, but waiting for coffee and food was to long. Nice ice latte. Sandwich was okey, nothing special. Banana pancakes were nice. Service was too chaotic. I will give a second chance.

The pastel was tasty, but what they call freddo "Greek style" was a cold brew and not a freddo espresso, that's why 3 stars
