Wagyu meets aged Rubia Gallega in a former Chinese pavilion

Matsu runs beef through two traditions at once: Japanese grill technique and Spanish aging. That's how wagyu ends up on the same menu as aged Rubia Gallega, in a Strijp-S building that's cycled through a run of very different tenants.

The wine list gets equal billing, right there in the name. The room reads sharp rather than stiff, and this is the most serious steak address on Strijp-S by some distance.

The food here is incredible! It is definitely not cheap but everything from the different kinds of beef to the vegetables and the fries tasted great! We were with a group of 8 and everyone was beyond satisfied with the whole experience. Very good service overall.

10/10 experience every time! We tried the shared menu (€95 p.p.) and it was absolutely delicious and incredibly filling. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The service is great everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We’ve visited for both lunch and dinner, and both experiences were equally amazing. A special mention to the sommelier, Frédérique! He is a real asset to Matsu in every way. Highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The food is really good, high quality and nicely prepared. We tried the 95€ tasting menu and everything was readily served and delicious. The portions were abundant and by the end of the dinner we were properly full. id highly recommend the experience! It is pricy though, and the food is all wagyu based, so it’s not for everyone.

The place is beautiful, the food was good, just sonewhat fatty for our taste. The starter tacos were the tastiest dish. Unfortunately we did not receive our main dish for more than 1.5 hours. After we asked, they realised they forgot our order, after which we received our food. It’s okay to forget, but we were sitting in the central area of the restaurant, and nobody looked at us for 1.5 hours to notice that we have nothing on our table, it went unnoticed until we had to ask. We were not asked how everything was or sorry for the long wait either, at this price point it would have been nice.

Quality wine and meat. Absolutely delicious but pricey. Given the quality of the meat the price is justified. I ordered medium rare and I got medium but all in all it was great
