Pour-over coffee on the Goudenregenplein

Pour-over is the house method here, hot water taken slowly over ground coffee, and the bakes come out of their own kitchen: lemon blueberry cake, white chocolate sesame cookies.

Lunch is better than it needs to be, with avocado toast on Meneer Leffers sourdough. Terrace in front, garden behind. Closed Tuesdays, and the door shuts at four.

If Café Drie was only a coffee bar, it would be a great addition to this neighbourhood. The vibe is relaxed, the owners are friendly, and the terrace and garden are great places to sit with a cup of good quality specialty coffee. But Drie also serves food, and while the menu may be small, it can comfortably compete with some of the best lunch restaurants in the city. Every dish is well-balanced, imaginative and intensely flavourful. I don’t have such a sweet tooth, but their cakes and pastries are really exceptional as well. Drie has quickly gone from a convenient morning coffee spot to one of my favourite lunch places as well. Really a hidden gem!

some of the best filter coffee i’ve had in Den Haag, great selection of coffees, super great staff and lovely terrace. I’ll be coming back every time i’m in the neighbourhood:)

The service is not very accommodating, and you need to actively get the staff’s attention to order. The atmosphere doesn’t feel inviting or cosy. For a neighborhood coffee spot, a warmer and more welcoming attitude would be expected.

Huuuuge recommendation! Lovely place with great coffee and their Toats (butternut squash & mushroom) are just incredibly tasty!!! Thank you also to the passionate owners, we’ll be back for sure!

Matcha was nice, too bad there is only oat or cow milk. Sesame white chocolate cookie was very good, gooey but super sweet as well. I expected more desserts/pastries. I like that there is a front terrace but also a backyard where it’s not too hot when it’s sunny. But in general I agree that the owner wasn’t very welcoming. And it’s weirdly quiet inside, maybe it’s a good idea to turn on some chill music or something. But otherwise a decent spot in the neighborhood.
